Badminton Cook Islands is proud to celebrate a major coaching achievement, with Danny Simpson completing the BWF Level 2 Coach Education Course in Auckland, New Zealand.
The course, delivered by Badminton Oceania, included classroom and on-court training and brought coaches together from across the Oceania region.
Danny’s achievement is a significant milestone for Cook Islands badminton and makes him the first Cook Islands coach to complete the BWF Level 2 qualification.
The qualification strengthens the Cook Islands’ coaching pathway and provides valuable knowledge and skills to support the development of our players.
The Auckland course provided an opportunity for coaches to learn, share experiences and build connections with others working to grow badminton across Oceania.
For Cook Islands badminton, having a coach reach this level of the BWF pathway is an important step in building stronger coaching opportunities locally and supporting players at different levels.
Danny’s achievement also adds to the growing development of badminton in the Cook Islands, as the association continues to create opportunities for coaches and players to improve their skills and experience.
The knowledge gained through the course can now be shared with local players and coaches, helping strengthen training and player development programmes in the Cook Islands.
With the continued support of Badminton Oceania and the wider badminton community, Cook Islands badminton can continue building its coaching capacity and creating pathways for the next generation.
