Coach Education

Coach Education is a fundamental component of Badminton Oceania’s development programme and has a direct correlation with Player Development and the quality of player’s progressing from social badminton through to competing on the international stage. All of the coach education courses offered by Badminton Oceania and the Badminton World Federation (BWF) are all inclusive programmes and include disability modules targeted at working with able bodied and disabled athletes.

Coach education in the Cook Islands starts at School level and junior badminton with the Shuttle Time teacher course and then progresses onto the BOC Pacific Foundation Coach course where we explore more technical foundations of badminton skills. Coaches who are looking to progress to a higher level of coaching and work with national juniors can be nominated through the National Federation to participate in a BWF Level 1 coach course.

For further information about becoming a coach or participating in a Shuttle Time Teacher or BOC Pacific Foundation coaching course please contact Thomas Mereana-Ngauru (thomasutangauru@gmail.com) or Hebrew Manuka (ciba682dmin@yahoo.com).
